The Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium picks up 2 awards at the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN

During the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN, the Rio Tinto Alcan planetarium took home two prizes: one in the museum category, and one that recognizes the outstanding use of wood in interior design.

The new Planetarium, laid out on three floors, employs a daring design where aluminum, a modern recyclable alloy, and wood are integral parts of the larger concept. A skillfully managed project that speaks to every generation.

The Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium is the first museum to obtain LEED platinum certification.
