The ambitious Parc Couvrette redevelopment project, located in the heart of a dynamic residential neighborhood, aims to revitalize this vast 8.68-hectare green space. The project plans to modernize and optimize existing facilities, while offering new recreational and gathering opportunities for residents.

A redesigned living space for all users

Parc Couvrette, already well known for its varied facilities, including tennis courts, baseball field and children’s playground, is set to become a key venue for sports and recreational activities. The mandate includes :

  • New four-season chalet: This 400 m² pavilion will be the nerve center of the park. It will integrate reception services for users of various facilities such as the swimming pool, tennis courts and future winter installations like the skating rink. The chalet will include reception areas, modern changing rooms, offices and storage space, all in a friendly, year-round setting.
  • New outdoor pool: Able to accommodate up to 300 bathers, this pool will become a privileged summer meeting place. In addition, a water play area will offer a fun and refreshing experience for the youngest visitors.
  • Sports and recreational facilities: In addition to the pool, the park will feature a basketball court, two picnic areas, an urban walkway and various outdoor amenities, all enhanced by modern lighting to ensure safety and evening appeal.
  • Children’s playground : The existing play area will be renovated and expanded, providing a safe and stimulating play space for children of all ages.

Design for nature and users

The redevelopment of Parc Couvrette is based on an approach that enhances the natural character of the site while reinforcing biodiversity. The aim is to reconnect the park with the surrounding ecological corridor, promoting the regeneration and continuity of ecosystems. Infrastructures such as the reception pavilion are part of this vision, offering immersive, eco-responsible facilities in harmony with the landscaping, while meeting the needs of residents in a sustainable way.

A project for the future

The redevelopment of Parc Couvrette is the first phase of an ambitious Spatial Reorganization Plan, which aims to make the park a central living space for neighborhood residents. By creating modern, safe infrastructures adapted to current and future needs, Ville de Laval is confirming its commitment to offering its citizens quality living spaces conducive to well-being and social development.
